D&I policies are global and at a first glance, values seem to be consistent, but the companies are experiencing an ever-growing tension between the global and the local. On the one hand, we do our best not to lose sight of values important for the organisation as a whole. On the other, we cannot forget about our diversity, the varying needs of our individual teams and locations, their development on various stages, and their tendency to go against top-down imposed solutions. Thus, going from global to local becomes one of the major challenges for D&I. This begs the question – How to overcome barriers in implementing global policies/strategies in local contexts?
